Softball Recap: Muncie Central Bearcats vs. Yorktown Tigers

Muncie Central extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to four on Monday, dropping their season record down to 0-3 in the process. They came up short against the Yorktown Tigers, falling 29-0. If the Bearcats were looking for revenge after losing 23-1 to the Tigers when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Yorktown, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1. That 29 run margin sets a new team best for them this season.

For Yorktown's part, Olivia Jaromin was incredible, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. That's the most runs Jaromin has posted since back in April of 2024. Emma Reynolds was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with five RBI, two runs, and one double.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Muncie Central will face off against Lapel at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Yorktown, they will square off against New Palestine at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Dragons will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight.
