Clinton was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Pearl on Friday. Clinton blew past Pearl 15-7. The result was nothing new for the Arrows, who have now won seven matches by eight runs or more so far this season.
Jaelyn Gholar was incredible, going 3-for-5 with two triples, five RBI, and three runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Makenzie Cooley, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
The win got Clinton back to even at 10-10. As for Pearl, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-7 record this season.
Clinton will venture away from home to take on Starkville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pearl, they will welcome Meridian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
