Maize South faced Derby in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Mavericks put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 4-0 victory. Considering Maize South have won ten contests by more than two goals this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Maize South is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-2-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 63 goals over those 12 games. As for Derby, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-2.
