They escaped with a win on Friday against the Rock Hills Grizzlies by the margin of a single free throw, 62-61. The win was some much needed relief for the Warriors as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Leading Red Cloud to victory were Aiva Rust and Josie Rust. Aiva posted 16 points, while Josie had 15 points. Kayla Faimon was another key player, putting up eight points.

Halle Mizner and Bethany Simmelink certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Mizner went 9 of 14 on her way to 21 points and six rebounds, while Simmelink went 6 of 15 on her way to 19 points along with five assists and five boards. Simmelink has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 25 times she's played. Alivia Lindberg was another key player, posting six points and nine rebounds.

Red Cloud's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-5. As for Rock Hills, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Red Cloud wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 66-16 win against Lewiston on the 4th. As for Rock Hills, they will head out to square off against St. John's/Tipton Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on January 10th.
