There's no place like home for Ocean Lakes, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They never let the Landstown Eagles get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory on Thursday. Considering the Dolphins have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Sam Patterson made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run. She also scored a run, marking her first of the season.
In other batting news, Lu Cirillo was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. That stolen base was her first of the season.
Ocean Lakes' win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-2.
