Basketball Recap: GVCS Broadfording Victorious

GVCS Broadfording proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 32) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Frederick Christian Academy Defenders, sneaking past 43-41. The team ran away with 29 points in the first half and mostly just sat on those to pick up the victory.

It was another big night for Fernando Garcia, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and ten rebounds. His evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Audric Pezet, who posted seven points.

GVCS Broadfording has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Frederick Christian Academy, the defeat snapped their winning streak at nine games and leaves them with a 11-3 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. GVCS Broadfording will welcome Southern at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Frederick Christian Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Frederick Force at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
