Basketball Recap: Cypress Sets Scoring Season-High Against Norte Vista

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cypress). Everything went their way against the Norte Vista Braves on Saturday as they made off with an 86-66 win. The Centurions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 20 points or more this season.

Despite the loss, Norte Vista still got an impressive performance from Hugo Morales, who shot 52% from the field to rack up 38 points. The game was Morales' tenth in a row with at least 17 points. Bryan Ramirez was another key player, putting up ten points.

Cypress is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.5 points over those games. As for Norte Vista, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Cypress will take on San Clemente in a holiday battle at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Centurions will be up against the Tritons' rather soft defense (which has allowed 52.36 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Norte Vista, they are taking a road trip to take on Rancho Verde at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Braves will need to watch out since the Mustangs have now posted at least 55 points in their last seven matchups.
