Basketball Recap: Trinity Snaps Eight-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

The third road match was the charm for Trinity, as they earned their first road win of the season. They came out on top against the Independence Blue Devils by a score of 69-62 on Friday. That's more bragging rights for the Trojans, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Trinity got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Aidan Duncan out in front who went 8 for 11 on his way to 16 points and four blocks. The dominant performance gave Duncan a new career-high in blocks. Cooper Hughes was another key player, going 7 of 9 on his way to 18 points and five rebounds.

Trinity smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Trinity's win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-4. As for Independence, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.

Trinity will be playing in front of their home fans against Gilmour Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Trinity is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.7 points per game this season. As for Independence, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 59-58 victory against Kenston on the 11th.
