Volleyball Recap: Lawrence County Takes a Loss

Lawrence County lost against Salem two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Cougars took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Lawrence County started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-13, 25-17, 25-19.

Despite the defeat, Lawrence County saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kylee McLeod had 19 digs.

Lawrence County's loss dropped their record down to 14-6. As for Salem, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lawrence County will take on Bogue Chitto at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Salem, they will square off against Piney Woods at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
