Baseball Recap: Assumption Academy vs. Shawe Memorial Hilltoppers

Assumption Academy had to hit the road for their first game and sadly it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell 9-4 to the Shawe Memorial Hilltoppers on Saturday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Assumption Academy of the 5-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.

For Shawe Memorial's part, Jacob Hertz made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. Hertz was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.
