Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Sammamish's Third in Last Four Outings

Sammamish won the last time they faced North Creek, and Rakin Showki did his part to make sure it happened again. The Sammamish RedHawks pulled ahead with a 74-73 photo finish over the North Creek Jaguars on Tuesday thanks in part to Showki, who almost dropped a triple-double on 35 points, ten rebounds, and nine assists. He is on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now racked up eight or more in the last five games he's played.

Despite the loss, North Creek had strong showings from Cris Bonicillo, who went 14 of 25 en route to 30 points and five steals, and Carter Cohen, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 boards. What's more, Cohen also racked up four blocks, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. Paolo Bonicillo was another key player, going 6 for 12 on his way to 17 points.

Sammamish has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. As for North Creek, with the defeat, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-7.

Sammamish didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 74-57 victory against Highline on the 31st. As for North Creek, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 64-59 loss against Lake Washington on the 31st.
