Baseball Recap: Chambers Comes Up Short

Chambers had lost seven straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 0-5 to make it eight. They lost 12-2 to the Independence Patriots. The Cougars were not able to make up for their loss to the Patriots from their previous meeting back in March of 2017.

As for Independence, the victory got them back to even at 5-5. Considering they have won five contests by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

For Independence's part, the team relied heavily on Callen Palmieri, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Caden Allen, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Independence beat Chambers by a score of 11-0 later that day.
