Baseball Game Preview: Maroa-Forsyth Trojans vs. Normal University Pioneers

The Maroa-Forsyth Trojans will head out on the road to challenge the Normal University Pioneers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Normal University will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Maroa-Forsyth extended their winning streak to four on Thursday. The Trojans put the hurt on MacArthur with a sharp 12-1 win.

Meanwhile, Normal University never let their opponents score on Thursday. Everything went their way against Glenwood as they made off with a 10-0 victory. Normal University's win was all the more impressive since the Titans were averaging only 3.95 runs allowed on the season.

Maroa-Forsyth's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-7. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Normal University, their victory bumped their record up to 21-7.

Everything went Maroa-Forsyth's way against Normal University in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Maroa-Forsyth made off with a 13-1 win. Do the Trojans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Pioneers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
