League recap: Moore throws longest pass in league this season for Jackson

AAA Region 4 recap October 8, 2013

Keenan Moore and Jaquain Swain provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Rockmart. The connection went for 75 yards, the longest such play in AAA Region 4 this season.

Business Engineering Science Tech made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 6,257 from 7,085. The improvement was largely due to a 41-7 victory over Haralson County last week.

Jackson's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Moore threw for 409 and 6 touchdowns and Quintavious Monday had 124 yards receiving. On the ground Moore chipped in 84 yards. Orenzo Smith helped Jackson's passing attack out by catching 6 balls for 111 yards.

He was 24-43 with 1 interception.

Moore was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 12 carries, he ran for 84 yards as the Jaguars defeated the Yellowjackets. Jermaine Perkins, Jr. also contributed to the rushing game with 15 yards on the ground.

Jackson's Moore and Smith have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-2 quarterback Moore has thrown for 1,367 yards this season, while Smith has 25 catches for 556 yards. The Eagles' Deshawn Waller leads the league in rushing yards with 473.

The top two teams in AAA Region 4 will face off this week when first place Central takes on second place Callaway.

Callaway led the league in scoring this week by notching 45 points on Chapel Hill.
