Jalen Brunson was expected to be something great and the Stevenson (Lincolnshire, Ill.) senior hasn't disappointed.

2015 McDonald's All-American Game boys roster

The 6-foot point guard is a McDonald's All-American and he helped USA Basketball to a 5-0 record and gold medal at the 2014 FIBA Americas U18 Championship last summer. He averaged 12 points and 5.6 assists per game there.

He led Stevenson to an elusive state 4A championship this season after scoring 41 and 25 to secure a sectional championship. On Saturday, Brunson scored a four-class title game record 30 points and made 9-for-15 from the field leading the Patriots to a 57-40 championship win over Normal Community.

"I don't have words," Brunson told reporters afterward. "We got a lead, but it wasn't just me, it was all of us."

Brunson, the No. 2 rated senior point guard in the country by 247Sports, has signed to Villanova. He'll be the hometown favorite at the 38th-annual McDonald's All-American Game.
