Softball Recap: Adrian Comes Up Short

Adrian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 14-4 to the Skyline Tigers. That's two games in a row now that the Blackhawks have lost by exactly ten runs.

Olivia Engeman made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Harlee Newkirk, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Adrian's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Skyline, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-0.

Looking ahead, Adrian will head out on the road to challenge Stover at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. We've got a battle between Tigers coming up. Stockton will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Skyline surely won't give up without a fight.
