South Gate had lost three games straight , but after bumping their record up to 6-12 on Monday that streak is in the rearview. They walked away with a 6-2 win over the Verdugo Hills Dons. This was payback for the Rams, who suffered an 11-1 loss the last time these two teams met.

As for Verdugo Hills, they moved to 7-12 with that defeat, which also ended their six-game winning streak. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

For Verdugo Hills' part, Bryan Aquino was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Isaiah Guevara also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

South Gate didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 7-3 loss against Kennedy on the 15th. As for Verdugo Hills, they have also already played their next game, a 1-0 victory against Palisades on the 17th.
