Sanger had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Exeter on Thursday. The Apaches blew past the Monarchs 3-0. That's more bragging rights for the Apaches, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The final score came out to 25-9, 25-18, 25-15.

Sofia Aguilar paced Sanger's offense, picking up 12 kills. Aguilar got some help from Samantha Guerra and her 22 assists. Arelly Mercado controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Sanger's win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Coming up, Sanger will take on Clovis East at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Exeter, they will face off against Sanger West at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
