It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the South Johnston Trojans can now relate to. They took a 28-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of Currituck County on Friday. The matchup was a 14-14 toss-up at halftime, but South Johnston was outscored by Currituck County in the second.

South Johnston bumped their record down to 6-5 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Currituck County, Hunt, and C.B. Aycock. As for Currituck County, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
