Baseball Recap: Shoals Christian Takes a Loss

Shoals Christian suffered their closest loss since February 22, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Covenant Christian Eagles by a score of 6-4. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Flame of the 12-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Shoals Christian saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rylan Pettus, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Reece Jackson was another, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

Shoals Christian has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season. As for Covenant Christian, their win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-13.

While Shoals Christian had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
