Basketball Recap: Atrisco Heritage Academy Comes Up Short

Atrisco Heritage Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss. They took a hard 46-32 fall against the Del Norte Knights. The Jaguars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Atrisco Heritage Academy lost, don't look at Jasmin West. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards. West is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Destiny Yapor, who posted nine points and five rebounds.

Bleona Agushi was her usual excellent self, going 10 for 23 en route to 22 points along with six boards and five steals for Del Norte. Agushi's evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Teriya Martin was another key player, putting up six points and eight rebounds.

Atrisco Heritage Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Del Norte, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-8.

Atrisco Heritage Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 57-31 victory against Rio Grande on the 11th. Del Norte has also already played their next contest, a 39-29 defeat against Hope Christian on the 11th.
