Basketball Recap: Washington Comes Up Short

Washington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 60-32 loss at the hands of Parkersburg South. The matchup marked Washington's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Washington's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Avorie Brown, who posted seven points. The dominant performance also gave Brown a new career-high in assists (two). Dj Boardley was another key player, putting up eight points and five rebounds.

Washington's defeat dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Parkersburg South, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.

Washington has already played their next matchup, a 62-37 loss against South Charleston on the 28th. As for Parkersburg South, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 75-48 defeat against George Washington on the 1st.
