Basketball Game Preview: Glastonbury Guardians vs. Simsbury Trojans

The Glastonbury Guardians are taking a road trip to take on the Simsbury Trojans at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. Glastonbury will be strutting in after a victory while Simsbury will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Monday, Glastonbury slipped by Middletown 2-1. Given the Guardians' advantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 17th, while the Blue Dragons are ranked 78th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Simsbury came up short against Northwest Catholic on Monday, falling 55-33.

Simsbury's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Glastonbury, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.

Glastonbury didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Simsbury in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 44-39 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Glastonbury since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
