 Notre Dame never let their opponents score on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Stevenson Pirates as the Notre Dame Spirits made off with  a  7-0 victory. That's more bragging rights for Notre Dame, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
 Not much got past  Sophia Cardinale, who gave up just  one  hit and racked up 13 Ks to keep Stevenson off the board. Cardinale has been consistent recently: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in 13 consecutive pitching appearances.
 On the hitting side,  Brianna Hernandez was  excellent,  scoring two  runs while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was  Maya Martinez, who  scored two  runs while going 2-for-4.
 Notre Dame has  been performing  well recently as they've  won nine of their last 12 matches,  which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record  this season. As for Stevenson, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9.
 The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Notre Dame beat Stevenson by a score of  12-2.
