Bishop Kenny falls despite strong effort from Clare Coyle

After a string of eight wins, the Bishop Kenny Crusaders's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Seffner Christian by a score of 41-38. Bishop Kenny found out winning isn't easy when your three-point shooting is a whole 26% worse than the opposition.

When it comes to explaining why Bishop Kenny lost, one person who can't be blamed is Clare Coyle. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds. Coyle is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Talbert, who scored seven points.

Seffner Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Nevaeh Lee out in front who scored 11 points. Kendra Yates was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two steals.

Bishop Kenny's defeat ended a 13-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 20-4. As for Seffner Christian, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-4.

Bishop Kenny will be playing at home against Wolfson at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Bishop Kenny is coming into the matchup with 24 straight defeats at home, so Wolfson is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. Seffner Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
