Recap: Airport Eagles vs. South Aiken Thoroughbreds
The Airport Eagles fought the good fight in their overtime contest against the South Aiken Thoroughbreds on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Thoroughbreds 57-52. Airport has not had much luck with South Aiken recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Ladontae Felton was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 11 rebounds for South Aiken. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Felton has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Nipper, who scored 16 points along with six steals.
Airport has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. As for South Aiken, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-15.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Midland Valley the next time they take the court. Airport will host Midland Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, while South Aiken will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
