Softball Game Preview: Alexandria Trojans vs. Neville Tigers

The Alexandria Trojans will take on the Neville Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Alexandria is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.

Alexandria fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against West Monroe on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Rebels by a score of 8-7.

Mary Claire Brinkman was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Amiyah Wilson was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Neville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They came up short against Sterlington, falling 11-1.

Neville's defeat dropped their record down to 5-19. As for Alexandria, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 23-7.

Alexandria took their win against Neville in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 17-6 score. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
