Softball Recap: Mingo Central Comes Up Short

After flying high against Van on Wednesday, Mingo Central came back down to earth. The Miners fell just short of the Tug Valley Panthers by a score of 8-7 on Thursday. The Miners have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Mingo Central's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Tug Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

Mingo Central didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 6-5 win against Bluefield on the 18th. As for Tug Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 10-4 defeat against Huntington on the 18th.
