Softball Game Preview: Thorsby Rebels vs. Montevallo Bulldogs

The Thorsby Rebels will square off against the Montevallo Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither Thorsby nor Montevallo posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Thorsby is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight games on Saturday. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Maplesville.

Demopolis hit Montevallo with a 20-run second inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bulldogs came up short against the Tigers, falling 20-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost three in a row.

Montevallo now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Thorsby, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.

Everything went Thorsby's way against Montevallo when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as Thorsby made off with a 9-1 win. Will the Rebels repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
