The Peak to Peak Pumas and the Montrose Red Hawks will face off at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Peak to Peak's tournament run continued when they took on Glenwood Springs on Friday. Peak to Peak was the clear victor by a 43-23 margin over Glenwood Springs. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Pumas.

Alexandra Eschmeyer was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 11 boards. She has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last 23 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Neve Gustafson, who posted nine points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Montrose put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by Moffat County to the tune of 55-26.

Peak to Peak better keep an eye on Maggie Legg. She was instrumental in Montrose's win, going 8 of 18 on her way to 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke Williams, who put up seven points and seven rebounds.

Montrose's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Peak to Peak, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Peak to Peak has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 26.2 boards per game. However, it's not like Montrose struggles in that department as they've been averaging 28.2 rebounds.
