River Ridge hasn't had much luck against Gig Harbor recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Hawks will head out to face off against the Tides at 4:00 p.m. River Ridge is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 12.8 runs per game this season.

On Wednesday, River Ridge didn't have quite enough to beat Peninsula and fell 5-4. The game marked the Hawks' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Jaylah Sok Vandergriff put in work no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Lana Trinidad made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Meanwhile, Gig Harbor entered their tilt with Bellarmine Prep on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Lions with a sharp 13-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Tides, who have now won eight matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Gig Harbor pushed their record up to 8-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.0 runs over those games. As for River Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.
