Volleyball Recap: Rockwood Summit Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with Eureka

Rockwood Summit faced Eureka in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Falcons fell 3-1 to the Wildcats. The Falcons were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wildcats earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-17, 15-25, 25-22.

Joe Lockey paced Rockwood Summit's offense, picking up 24 kills. Lockey got some help from Noah Fowler and his 42 assists. Finally, Ethan Feig kept Rockwood Summit's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Rockwood Summit's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-11-1. As for Eureka, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-12.

Coming up, Eureka will challenge St. Francis Borgia at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rockwood Summit will be paying especially close attention to the Wildcats' contest: after the Wildcats face off against the Knights, they'll take on Rockwood Summit again at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
