Valley City had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.3 points) and they went ahead and made it nine on Monday. They came within a single point of losing the streak, but they secured a 60-59 W against the Central Cass Squirrels. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 61-46 back in January.

Valley City pushed their record up to 18-3 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. As for Central Cass, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 15-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Valley City will square off against Northern Cass at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Valley City knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Northern Cass likes a good challenge. As for Central Cass, they will challenge Devils Lake at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
