Football Game Preview: Bozeman Bucks vs. North Bay Haven Academy Buccaneers + Official Tickets

Two dominant signal callers in Hayden Gay and Caleb Muszynski are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Bozeman Bucks will venture away from home to challenge the North Bay Haven Academy Buccaneers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bozeman will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Bozeman barely beat Rutherford the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bucks blew past the Rams 51-27 on Thursday. That looming 51-27 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Bucks yet this season.

Bozeman found their leader in sophomore Gay, who threw for 231 yards and three TDs on only 15 passes, and also rushed for 48 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Melvin Monds also set a new season-high mark in rushing yards with 163.

Bozeman was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 280 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

One reason for the win was Bozeman's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Asher Burris and Jarret Gay, who racked up five sacks between them. Burris has been hot, having also posted five or more total tackles the last five times he's played.

Meanwhile, North Bay Haven Academy played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Cottondale, falling 48-22. Surprisingly, this marked the Buccaneers' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Bozeman's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for North Bay Haven Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.

Everything came up roses for Bozeman against North Bay Haven Academy when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 41-9 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bucks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
