Preview: Chaparral Roadrunners vs. Southeast of Saline Trojans
The Chaparral Roadrunners will head out on the road to face off against the Southeast of Saline Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Chaparral will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings (they are ranked 174th, while Southeast of Saline is ranked ninth).
Last Friday, Chaparral took a serious blow against Haven, falling 47-7. Chaparral has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Southeast of Saline put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They didn't even let Ellsworth onto the board and left with a 30-0 victory. The result was nothing new for Southeast of Saline, who have now won six contests by 24 points or more so far this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Southeast of Saline to victory, but perhaps none more so than Daniel Kejr, who threw for 181 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Nathan Friesen and his 80 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Southeast of Saline's victory.
Chaparral's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Southeast of Saline, their victory was their eighth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 8-0.
Chaparral took a serious blow against Southeast of Saline in their previous matchup back in November of 2022, falling 50-14. Thankfully for Chaparral, Luke Gebhardt (who rushed for 78 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 150 yards and two touchdowns) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
