Volleyball Recap: Crestwood Extends Winning Streak to Three

With a playoff win on the line, Crestwood rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Valley View Cougars with a sharp 3-0 victory. The win was familiar territory for the Comets, who have now won three contests in a row.

Crestwood never let Valley View on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-13, 25-22.

JJ Stec paced Crestwood's offense, picking up 20 kills. Stec got some help from Zach Koons and his 27 assists. Finally, Thomas Mclaughlin kept Crestwood's defense grounded, leading the team with 12 blocks.

Crestwood's victory bumped their record up to 17-4. As for Valley View, their loss ended a nine-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 10-5.

Looking ahead, Crestwood will challenge Western Wayne at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Comets surely won't give up without a fight. Valley View does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
