Basketball Recap: Ty Ridlehoover's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Ninety Six over Emerald

Ninety Six lost against Emerald back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Ninety Six Wildcats lost to the Emerald Vikings at home by a 64-46 margin.

Ninety Six's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ty Ridlehoover, who posted 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamarious Dunlap, who put up nine points.

Emerald was led to victory by Malachi Dunlap and Damarquis Hopkins. Malachi went 7 of 11 on his way to 15 points in addition to six assists and six boards, while Hopkins went 9 for 16 on his way to 19 points and six rebounds. Rykevius Logan was another key player, putting up eight points and seven rebounds.

Ninety Six's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Emerald, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Ninety Six will square off against Calhoun Falls Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Emerald, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 53-49 loss against Crescent on the 11th.
