Softball Recap: Olympus Beats Brighton for Their Fourth Straight Win

Olympus entered their tilt with Brighton on Thursday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Bengals. That's more bragging rights for the Titans, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Charlie Turner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Mya Palcher, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Charlotte Comer, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Olympus' win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Brighton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.

Coincidentally, Olympus and Brighton will both be playing Alta the next time they take the field. The Bengals will head out to face the Hawks at 3:30 p.m. on the 14th, while the Titans will host them at 3:30 p.m. on the 15th.
