Baseball Game Preview: Choudrant Aggies vs. Weston Wolves

The Choudrant Aggies will square off against the Weston Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with six defeats in a row, Choudrant turned things around against Simsboro on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 4-1.

Choudrant saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cy Spatafora, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. The dominant performance gave Spatafora a new career-high in hits.

Meanwhile, Weston got themselves on the board against Union Parish on Monday, but Union Parish never followed suit. Everything went their way against the Farmers as they made off with a 17-0 victory. The Wolves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by ten runs or more this season.

Bryce Zehr made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in February of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, Drew Browning was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles. Those doubles marked the first that he hit this season. Liam Weaver was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Weston always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .633. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Union Parish only posted an OBP of .250.

Weston has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. Choudrant's win bumped their record up to 3-8.
