Softball Recap: Gunderson Grizzlies vs. Hill Falcons        
        
		
            
 Gunderson had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.4 runs), and they went ahead and made it six on Monday. They blew past the Hill Falcons 16-1. Gunderson might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won 11 games by seven  runs or more this season.
  Alanna Martinez Poklong was a major factor no matter where she played. She  struck out eight batters over  three innings while giving up just one earned run off   three  hits (and only one walk). Martinez Poklong has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts every time she's  pitched this season. Martinez Poklong was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 2-for-3 with a  home run, six  RBI,  and two  runs.
 In other batting news,  Sabrina Gonzales was  excellent,  scoring two  runs while  getting on base  in all three of her plate appearances.  Breanna Bartek was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
 Gunderson's win was  their third straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 11-3. As for Hill, they are  on  a  four-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 1-14.
 Gunderson will look to defend their home field  on Wednesday against Overfelt at 4:00  p.m. Gunderson knows how to get  runs on the board -- the  team has finished with flashy  run totals in its past seven matchups -- so hopefully Overfelt likes a good challenge. As for Hill, they will head out on the road to  square off against  James Lick at 4:00  p.m.  on Friday.
