Softball Recap: Colonial Beach Drifters vs. Lancaster Red Devils
Colonial Beach had to endure a seven-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Lancaster Red Devils on Thursday. This was payback for Colonial Beach, who suffered an 11-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Alexis Gage spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits.
On the hitting side, Zayna Wolfe was incredible, going 3-for-4 with a home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlyn MIddleton, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 3-for-4.
Colonial Beach's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-14. As for Lancaster, they dropped their record down to 6-13 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.
