Softball Recap: Triway's Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Triway waltzed into their match on Wednesday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They came out on top against the Canton South Wildcats by a score of 11-6. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-1 on Monday.

Kenzie Gatti was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Myah Lester, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.

Triway was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They are 9-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Triway pushed their record up to 10-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Canton South, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Triway will square off against Manchester at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Titans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 9.1 runs per game this season. As for Canton South, they will take on Canton Central Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
