Basketball Recap: Mason Starts Season with Victory Against Fairmont

Mason gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They slipped by the Fairmont Firebirds 46-45. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Comets have posted since December 10, 2024.

Looking ahead, Mason will take on St. Xavier at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fairmont, they will head out on the road to face off against Wayne at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The contest will give the Firebirds their first taste of in-conference action this season.
