Recap: Hug Hawks vs. Truckee Wolverines
The Hug Hawks suffered their closest loss yet this season on Friday. They fell just short of Truckee by a score of 32-29. Hug has struggled against Truckee recently, as their contest on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Hug had strong showings from Taliyah Henderson, who scored nine points, and Andrea Trujillo, who scored nine points.
Hug's defeat was their 13th straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-12. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 21.2 points per game. As for Truckee, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hug will challenge North Valleys at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. North Valleys has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Truckee, Truckee and South Tahoe will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 24th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. One thing working in South Tahoe's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three contests.
