Recap: Overhills Jaguars vs. Pine Forest Trojans

The Overhills Jaguars fought the good fight in their overtime game against the Pine Forest Trojans on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 51-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trojans. Overhills was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Pine Forest apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.

Despite the loss, Overhills still got an impressive performance from Ej Stokes, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Stokes has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Chauncy Kelly, who scored ten points along with four steals.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pine Forest to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nehemiah Mcdonald, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds. Mcdonald hasn't dropped below 15points for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Tristan Lyons, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.

Overhills' loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Pine Forest, their win bumped their record up to 9-7.

Overhills will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Oak Ridge Military Academy at 6:30 p.m. One thing working in Oak Ridge Military Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 11 matches. As for Pine Forest, they will head out on the road to take on Purnell Swett at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
