Hadley West and Izzy Renz did some serious damage despite the final result: West went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double, while Renz went 1-for-4 with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Allie Egolf, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, Adams Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Norwell, falling 12-6.
Melina Peralez led a balanced group of hitters, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. That stolen base marked the first that she has snagged this season. Izzy Isch was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
Manchester now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Adams Central, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.
Adams Central's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Manchester has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.9 hits per game. It's a different story for Adams Central, though, as they've been averaging 16.5 hits. Given Manchester's sizable advantage in that area, the Flying Jets will need to find a way to close that gap.
