Volleyball Recap: Cabrillo Has No Trouble Against Lompoc

The Cabrillo Conquistadores made easy work of the Lompoc Braves on Thursday and carried off a 3-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Conquistadores.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Cabrillo was: they took every set by at least 25 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-0, 25-0, 25-0.

Matias Salguero paced Cabrillo's offense, picking up 12 kills. Salguero got some help from Cody Lawton and his 32 assists. Lawton was also solid from the service line: he led the team with four aces.

Cabrillo's victory bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Lompoc, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-5.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Cabrillo is set to challenge their familiar foe Santa Maria at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Lompoc will square off against rival Mission College Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
