Basketball Game Preview: Edgemont Moguls vs. Harding County Ranchers

The Edgemont Moguls just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Harding County Ranchers at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

On Thursday, Edgemont was fully in charge, breezing past Takini 60-24. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Moguls.

Meanwhile, Harding County put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Philip 71-37. 71 seems to be a good number for the Ranchers as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Harding County found their leader in freshman Kamry Padden, who went 7-for-12 on her way to 20 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Padden a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Raelee Hunsucker, who went 5-for-12 en route to 16 points.

Harding County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive boards in four consecutive matches.

Harding County's win was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.1 points over those games. As for Edgemont, their record is now 14-4.

Edgemont suffered a grim 61-39 defeat to Harding County in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Thankfully for Edgemont, Claire Verhulst (who went 7-for-16 to rack up 19 points and six steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
