Softball Recap: Hattiesburg Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Hattiesburg duked it out with Sumrall on Friday. The Tigers came up short against the Bobcats, falling 14-1. The contest marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Hattiesburg saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Darriyah Walls, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Walls has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played. Zykia Mobley also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Hattiesburg has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season. As for Sumrall, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 16 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season.
