Basketball Game Preview: Gibbs Gladiators vs. Eustis Panthers

After both having extra time off, the Gibbs Gladiators and the Eustis Panthers will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court one another at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Gibbs comes in on 19 and Eustis on six.

Gibbs is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup last Thursday. They slipped by Blake 50-49.

The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in Jacob Daniels and Joe Philon. Daniels had a solid game and posted 21 points and eight boards. Meanwhile, Philon did his best for the losing side, almost dropping a double-double with 13 points and nine rebounds.

Meanwhile, Eustis didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Atlantic last Thursday, but they still walked away with a 56-50 victory.

Eustis' win came from a few key players Gibbs will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Lomar Sparrow, who had 13 points and six boards. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Cornelius Hines, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Eustis' win bumped their record up to 21-8. As for Gibbs, their victory bumped their record up to 26-4.
